Modern Engineering and Construction in conjunction with Consonics Pty Ltd recently completed a PolyPropylene, High Density Polyethylene storage and conveying facility in Johor, Malaysia.

The storage silos are fully fabricated from stainless steel and feature roof platforms for equipment maintenance, skirted hoppers to protect under silo equipment, bag unloading for raw material and conveying direct to injection moulding equipment in the adjacent factory. The system fully automates the materials handling process which was previously inefficient and labour intensive. It also allows the client to purchase raw materials in greater quantities to increase buying power.

Each of the three 180 cubic metre silos store 100T of material and allows the product to be keep free of contamination. Filling is by pneumatic conveying and emptying by vacuum to each machine.
