"KOTZUR" Installs Rapid Rail Load Silos at two more sites..The AWB Ltd recently expanded its network of receival points in the Eastern States. Modern Engineering and Construction installed rapid rail load silos at two of these sites: Gilgandra and Oaklands.
Each site has two 1830 Cubic Metre (1450-1550 tonnes of wheat) silos built over the rail loop. Similar to previous work for AWB, this allows loading of a typical 2,500T train in two hours. It is anticipated that the efficiencies gained from reduced handling and freight costs will see a greater return to grain growers who supply these facilities. M.E.&C. supplied and erected the silos meeting tight deadlines which saw the facilities operational in time for the harvest in November, 2002
