Modern Engineering and Construction have commenced final commissioning of an installation for Professional Grain Services, Laverton, Victoria.

Professional Grain is a specialist grain cleaning and packing company who receive grain and prepare it for export. They operate to stringent quality control systems which involve intensive sampling, process checking and recording. They deliver the finished product in bulk, bulk in container and bagged in container direct to wharf. Their clients include many of Australia's larger grain exporters and products include: wheat, barley, malt, canola, peas, lupins, beans, corn and safflower.

The multi million dollar grain handling facility, which dominates the Laverton skyline, was fully designed and installed by Modern Engineering. The system includes 4 x GPE 11.4-9-45 (1100 tonne) elevated silos, conveying (bucket elevators and belt conveyors to 250 Tonnes per hour), road receival, internal bins to 70T capacity, a PLC based process control with Graphic operator interface and associated structural steelwork. The facility is designed to accommodate future expansion and gives the company high levels of operational efficiency.
