WACBH builds transfer station at Regans Ford, expands West River.
West Australian Co-operative Bulk Handling recently built a transfer station at Regan’s Ford (North of Perth) and expanded the West River receival site (between Albany and Esperance) incorporating "Kotzur" Silos.
The Regan’s Ford facility allows grain producers to deliver locally where previously they were delivering their grain direct to Perth (an additional 120 kms). The grain is stored temporarily until it is loaded out to cartage contractors who delivery grain into the Metro Terminal (Perth) using Road Trains. This results in significant improvement in transport efficiency. The facility incorporates 6 x 500T capacity bins which had to be specially designed to suit local earthquake conditions.
At West River, an additional two x 500T bins were installed to increase the number of segregations able to be received.
